Youth Discipleship (Confirmation) Resources
What is Youth Discipleship Ministry? Why Go Through this Ministry?
Youth Discipleship Ministry is a time of continued learning and growth in our faith over the next three years. The Lord tells us that our wisdom is folly but His wisdom is to be sought after. In this ministry we study the wisdom of God through His Word and how the beliefs of the Lutheran Church are based on the wisdom of God.
There are many things that you learn in school. While these subjects are certainly important, we feel that the most important things a youth needs to learn about are: the grace of God found in Christ, what God’s Word says for our lives today, what we believe and why it matters, and what does it mean to live as a disciples of Jesus Christ.
At the end of these three years, the confirmation celebration service is a reaffirmation of the promise that God made to you in baptism. It is through baptism that God claimed you and now it is through this service that we speak back that vow. Please also note by completing this ministry you further develop your journey of discipleship with the Lord.
Youth Discipleship Ministry is offered at two different times. Youth who are enrolled at Grace Lutheran School will be taking it during the day. Youth who attend one of our area schools will be taking Youth Discipleship Ministry on Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30. Classes are taught by one of our three pastors with occasional guest speakers. We are all here for the sake of your child’s continued growth as a disciple of Christ.
